It is essential that your policy complies with all relevant legislation, including the Privacy Act, Human Rights Act, Employment Act, and Health & Safety at Work Act. We will help you understand your obligations under these acts, and make sure your drug and alcohol policy adhere to them.

Testing must be conducted by a qualified technician according to the following standards:

  • Urine drug testing in accordance with AS/NZS 4308:2008 (or subsequent revisions)
  • All oral fluid drug testing in accordance with AS/NZS 4760:2019 (or subsequent revisions)
  • All alcohol testing was conducted with a breathalyser verified to AS 3547:2019 (or subsequent revisions)

How it works

To promote workplace drug testing, it is vital to gain employee buy-in and commitment. This training introduces drug and alcohol testing to your team in an approachable way, so that all employees are familiar with the process and the reasons for testing.

Sessions provide an overview on how drugs and alcohol affect the body and possible outcomes if drugs are detected.

This training is designed to provide managers with the tools they need to identify and deal with people under the influence at work so that policies and procedures are followed.

Training is aligned with Employment Law, the Privacy and Human Rights Acts. As a result, managers feel confident about what process to follow.
